Professor Muruku Waiguchu has been active in academia for over 50 years both in the United States and Kenya. He has worked in different levels of academia from a lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, full professor, senior full professor, department chair, dean and divisional director. He has taught, researched and supervised numerous dissertations in different colleges and universities in the USA and Kenya. Some of these institutions include: Teachers’ College, Columbia University, St. John’s University (NY), Richmond College of the City University of NY, Rutgers University (Newark, NJ), University of Maryland, College Park, William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ, and KeMU and DeKUT in Kenya. As a retired Professor, he continues to actively make contributions to academia and human development in both the USA and Kenya.
Over his long career in academia, Prof. Waiguchu has authored numerous academic reports, public policy monographs, consultancy reports, journal articles and books.
Prof. Waiguchu received his BA from Central College, Pella, Iowa, MA from Queens College, CUNY, NYC, and his PhD from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He has also attended other institutions like Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa), Iowa State University (Ames) and Syracuse University (NY)
