Lucy Kiruthu – DAEA Doctoral Students’ Chapter Chair in Kenya
Lucy is a management consultant on a mission to inspire positive change in business and society. She has 20 years’ experience in management cutting across a variety of industries, is proficient in general management, strategic management and leading change, and is passionate about service, leadership, communications and enterprise development. She offers business support services in the areas of general management, strategic management, change management, and service excellence among others. Lucy has worked with over 50 organizations both large corporates and medium sized enterprises in East Africa and in the USA such as Britam Insurance, G4S Security Services, Simba Colt motors, Brookside Dairy, Java House, Walmart stores, Hardees, Liberty life, Stima SACCO.
Lucy is the president of DAEA doctoral students’ chapter in Kenya. She oversees doctoral students’ welfare in DAEA and ensure they attend colloquiums and workshops for quality research. Lucy holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) – Strategic Management from Park University – MO-USA (2004) and a Bachelor of Science degree from Egerton university- Kenya. She has finalized on a Doctorate in Business Administration – Strategic Management at USIU-Africa where she has been researching on “Organizational Capabilities and Strategy Execution”. She is looking forward to her doctoral graduation ceremony this year 2018. In addition, she has extensively trained on leadership, communications, customer service excellence and quality management systems including ISO 9001 and Kaizen. Lucy has written a book “Customer Service at its Best”, has been a columnist of the Daily Nation Smart Company since 2011, and is a seasoned writer with Management Magazine among other publications. On the social front, Lucy serves is a co-founder and chair of her former primary school foundation, is a member of TAG, a community based organization and a volunteer consultant.
